The 100% pure organic lemongrass essential oil is a pale yellow to orange-red oil with a strong, characteristically fresh fragrance and an intense lemon aroma.

Its fragrance is lemony, fresh and vibrant and is often associated with clarity, activation and natural energy.

The 100% pure organic lemongrass essential oil is sensitive to light and almost insoluble in water. Its solubility in alcohol may decrease as it ages.

Extraction: This organic essential oil is obtained from the leaves of Cymbopogon Flexuosus through steam distillation. The process preserves the plant’s natural aromatic compounds.

Organic Lemongrass Oil – How to Use

In a diffuser:
Add 2–4 drops of organic lemongrass oil to the diffuser.

As a skin and massage oil:
Mix 2–4 drops of organic lemongrass oil with 50 ml of carrier oil, e.g. almond or nut oil.

As a bath additive:
Add 5–8 drops of organic lemongrass oil to 4 tablespoons of cream or milk and pour into the bathwater.

Blends well with:
Eucalyptus, Lavender, Rosemary and Lemon.

Production & Extraction

The 100% pure organic lemongrass essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of Indian lemongrass, also known as East Indian lemongrass, (Cymbopogon Flexuosus).

The plant is organically cultivated. The oil is 100% natural and pure. The yield from steam distillation is approximately 0.5%.

Steam distillation is a gentle separation process used to extract and purify low-volatility plant compounds such as essential oils. The process uses steam to release the aromatic compounds from the plant while preserving the oil’s natural properties.

The Plant – Cymbopogon Flexuosus

Originally, lemongrass, also known as lemon grass, comes from India, Sri Lanka, Burma and Thailand.

Today, it is cultivated worldwide in suitable climate zones and is also popular as a fragrant ornamental plant.

Lemongrass is related to the commonly known West Indian lemongrass (Cymbopogon Citratus), but unlike that species, it is not used as a culinary herb.

Indian lemongrass grows as a perennial monocotyledonous grass with long, reed-like green leaves.

It reaches a height of approximately one metre.
